How to choose a boat for wakeboarding and wakesurfing

It’s not difficult to find and choose the right boat for you. You should follow these 5 simple steps:

1. Where do you plan to use the boat: on the river, lake, or sea? If you plan to use it on the sea you should buy a saltwater boat.
2. What activities are you planning to use it for? For wakeboarding, waterskiing, or tubing you can use a 20-23 foot boat without an expensive ballast system. If you are planning to wakesurf you will need to buy a boat that is 23 feet or longer with a ballast system.
3. How many people are going to ride with you? For 2-7 people you can buy a 20-23 foot boat. To fit 7-15 people with gear, a 23-25 foot boat is a good choice for your family.
4. Now, It's time to choose the brand. In my personal opinion, Malibu and Nautique are top-of-the-range options (like Mercedes and BMW among cars); Axis, Supreme, and Centurion are good mid-range boats (like Volkswagen and Citroen).
5. Features that you can add to your new boat:
A. Ballast. You can choose from many options to create a good wave for wakesurfing and wakeboarding. You can use a simple system like an automatic tank with water, and a more pro system like a Power Wedge. it's a simple way to create a huge wave for surfing and wakeboarding.
B. Engine. If you have chosen a ballast system and will ride in the company of 3 or more friends, then take an engine starting from 500 hp.
C. Canvas. This is a very good option on a hot summer day and if it's raining.
D. Rack for equipment. If you use 2-3 boards you can use only two racks, left and right. If you use more than 5 boards you need to buy an additional rack system.
